My Favorite Church Sign
Aug 20th, 2009 by craig
Over on the Cottle blog, there’s been a little discussion of some “signs of the apocalypse” (Amoung Canadians, golf is now more popular than hockey!?!). This has led me to some uncomfortable thoughts regarding my favorite church sign. For at least the last eight weeks, this has been the sign:
I’ve felt like I’ve lost an old friend.
So, to help stave off the loneliness (and perhaps put off the apocalypse) here’s one from another church just up the street from my apparently absent Adventists:
When partaking in sin, I’ll be sure to avoid the bitter aftertaste by taking more than just one bite.
Lol… Yes it has been a bit disappointing that the Adventists have stopped sharing their wisdom and insight on food… I am happy the baptists are helping out.
You could always add a little Splenda to your bite of sin. So many sins are delectable little morsels of heaven..
lol… yes. I agree with Rob- just sweeten the sin with some Splenda or Sugar.
When we lived in Texas there were various churches on nearly every corner, and it seemed that they were trying to compete with each other by having the most clever phrase on the marquee. Some of my favorites that I remember:
“Got Jesus?”
“You think it’s hot here…”
“Forbidden fruits create many jams”
“PRAY is not your average 4 letter word”
I wish I would have taken pictures of some of these, because there were so many…
I think three bites of sin is just about the right amount. At each sitting.
Robert, that is priceless: “So many sins are delectable little morsels of heaven..” I’m putting it on my quote page.
