“Faith, Quinn mused, was a strange power. They had committed their lives to the sect, never questioning its gospels. Yet in all of that time they had the reassurance of routine, the notion that [God] would never actually manifest himself. The bedrock of every religion: that your God is a promise, never to be encountered in this life, in this universe.”
Well, Sam… while it is true that sports may be silly, and the BCS really outdoes themselves with silliness, it does generate billions (billions with a ‘B”) of dollars in revenue for someone… Football is a game, but it’s a very, very profitable game for some, and in the case of the BCS, it’s profitable at the expense of others; not to mention the frustration to the rest of us by not actually having a playoff for college football.
Go Utes!
Take that, BYU. Go Utes!
Indeed, take that BYU, take that Florida, take that Oklahoma, take that Alabama, take that USC, and mostly take that BCS……
I wonder if Mike and Chris have seen this…. they are both U of U graduates.
They are the number one team!
Booooooo.
Silly sports. I thought football was a game.
Suppose I should ensure that my “boo” is correctly directed towards those parties mentioned in Craig’s response.
